Southpac Offshore Planning Institute 2026: No Longer Optional
22 February 2026

Southpac is proud to introduce the Southpac Offshore Planning Institute 2026 (SOPI). This is our third international conference since 2017 and the most definitive expression yet of where modern wealth planning is headed.
For years, the industry has spoken about preparing for change, from tax reform, through political volatility and rising litigation risk, to demands for increasing transparency and erosions on personal privacy. Advisors have urged clients to “plan ahead” and “be proactive.”
But preparation implies the future is still approaching.
It isn’t.
SOPI will bring together thought leaders from all over the world who are committed to accessing future-proof wealth management, asset protection and succession planning solutions for their clients.
Volatility is now the operating environment. Multi-jurisdictional reporting is standard. Privacy is narrowing. Litigation risk is expanding. The great wealth transfer to the next generation is underway. Client expectations are shifting faster than traditional domestic structures can adapt. In this environment, the question is no longer whether offshore planning might be appropriate. The question is how best to use it as a cornerstone of a modern, resilient wealth architecture.
Offshore structures offer what domestic vehicles increasingly cannot – jurisdictional separation, legal durability, enhanced privacy and continuity across political and regulatory cycles. What was once positioned as an advanced strategy for a sophisticated subset of clients is now foundational.
Cook Islands and Nevis, long regarded as niche jurisdictions for those at most risk of litigation, are now at the forefront of serious long-term planning for all HNWIs. Purpose-built trust and entity legislation, creditor-hostile statutes, and judicial consistency have positioned these jurisdictions not as alternatives, but as structural anchors in modern wealth management strategy.
The risks have changed. The expectations have changed. The standard of advice and suite of options provided to clients must change with them. When something is no longer optional, it becomes the starting point.
The Southpac Offshore Planning Institute is No Longer Optional. It is designed for advisors who recognise this shift, and for those who want to lead it. It brings together attorneys, tax advisors, estate planners, litigators, banks, and investment professionals who understand that offshore planning is not an exception, but a baseline for modern wealth preservation.
You can choose to follow this shift, or lead it. But ignoring it is No Longer Optional.
SOPI will be hosted from 14-16 April 2026 at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, bringing together industry experts, thought leaders and the professionals driving the offshore asset protection and wealth management industry.
